Candidates Supporting Ranked-Choice Voting

Thank you to all the candidates who applied for FairVote Washington’s endorsement, and congratulations to those elected to office! We look forward to working together to strengthen our democracy. 

To our supporters, we want to offer transparency into who and how we endorse candidates.

First, candidates must complete and return our questionnaire. We invite all candidates who file in races that can help advance ranked-choice voting (RCV) to complete and return our questionnaire. Not only does our questionnaire ask questions about improving democracy, it educates candidates about RCV so they understand this important electoral reform.

Once questionnaires are completed, we evaluate who has applied for endorsement in each race and make decisions based on their support of our mission and our trust in them to deliver results once elected.

We do not give endorsements lightly and are proud to stand behind those we do endorse.

If you are not seeing candidates who reflect your political leanings, we invite you to a) understand they may not have asked for our endorsement, and b) reach out to them for conversations about whether or not they support ranked-choice voting and democracy reform.
